My STARLINK device is on its way | Shipping

After 5 days of PREPARING FOR SHIPPING tag in the Starlink app, I got an email telling me that my ORDER HAS SHIPPED.

Now, it’s just a waiting game as to when will be the ACTUAL DELIVERY DATE.

According to the TRACKING DETAILS, it’s being DISPATCHED by DHL, further checking, the ESTIMATED DELIVERY DATE is on July 20, 2023. So one day from getting the ORDER SHIPPED email, there’s really no ACTUAL MOVEMENT on the courier side. So far, I don’t have anything in my calendar on the 20th.

Also, upon further checking, on the SHIPPING DETAILS, it seems like, LBC will be the LAST MILE courier.

And since LBC is already familiar with our place, I guess there won’t be any problem with the delivery.

Got this a few minutes after the order confirmation. So it’s as early as within 2 days OR after more than a week.

Nonetheless, I’m not in a hurry, well, it helps. Otherwise I will not have the patience to wait.

Took advantage of the PRICE DROP (Hardware) | Starlink

I was so excited when the availability was announced that I wasn’t able to sleep properly then. The only thing that held me back from ordering was the circumstances, I will not be able to use it yet, so I held my supposed impulse buy.

Five months after, an email from Starlink made me jumped out of bed this morning. Starlink is offering some Php9000.00 off from the hardware price. So who in his right mind wouldn’t grab the opportunity? Heck, it’s just Php4000.00 more from the price of Smart’s 5G Wireless modem.

The advantages outweighs the disadvantages when compared to Smart’s 5G Wireless Modem. The most persuasive of it all is, a Starlink unit can be brought anywhere and still get broadband speeds!

I took the ROAM/MOBILITY plan, yeah it’s P600.00 more expensive than the RESIDENTIAL Plan, and doesn’t get PRIORITY from the satellites (when in a congested area, which I’m not worried because I’ll be using this primarily when I go home to my ISLAND PROVINCE, in CLAVERIA, MASBATE and there, I’m sure I will not worry about congestion). The ROAM/MOBILITY plan has one advantage over the RESIDENTIAL plan, and that is, it’s capable of being PAUSED.

Yup, I can PAUSE the subscription, means, I don’t have to pay a monthly service fee when I’m NOT using it!

I’ll update here when I get the device and when get to use it.

Extend your desktop workspace via GlideX | New App Install

Saw this new app video in my news timeline this morning and I got interested. You see, I live in a multi-device, multi-OS world. I am not enveloped in one ecosystem. My main desktop is a Mac, my laptops are running on Windows, I use both Android and an iPhone for my daily drivers.

I have no problem getting stuff (especially pictures) from my iPhone to the Mac, but there’s really a problem getting photos and videos from the Fold 3 to the Mac. The Windows Link app is a dear between my Android phones and Windows devices. But I have yet to see or use a seamless app that can help me with transferring files between an Android device and a Mac.

Hopefully, GlideX will be that. I’ve installed it on one of my Android devices, and my Mac desktop. I’ll post my experience with it, after I test it.

GlideX is from ASUS and I think it’s their way of enticing all OS device users to go for ASUS products.

Oh and by the way, the STANDARD pricing is FREE.

Super Mario Bros Wonder – My Type of Game

Mario is part of my childhood and tickles the “gamer” in me….

But I guess I’m stuck with the linear games. I’ve never adopted with the first person shooters or free world games. I can’t get the controls right and I get nauseated with the camera movements.

There there’s the “remastered” games, but I’m a visual person too! So playing “remastered” pixelated games on an HD TV/monitor/Screen to me seems POINTLESS.

Then I saw this trailer today, I guess, I’m getting this one.

Foundation Season 2

FOUNDATION is one of the very few shows in Apple+ that I watch and like.

Well, yeah, I’m subscribed to Apple+, but not because I like the shows…it’s just bundled in Apple One.

Foundation is finely produced and made. The actors portrayed their characters properly and convincingly. The story line is amazing (although sometimes confusing but once you get the hand of it, that’s when it becomes amazing). The pacing is just right, it’s not dragging that you’ll stop watching after one episode but not too fast that you’ll lose the essence of the story.

Excited to start watching it again.

Although I’m not surprised as it’s really possible if one knows his PHYSICS, but is still AMAZING to see it in real life. You see, the whole firing a gun is already a feat in PHYSICS, but it bouncing off water is another fact extracted from the laws of physics.

Automatic Posting on #TWITTER is NOT working anymore

It’s been a while since I posted something here on #WordPress.

Tonight I posted a short commentary about the #GothamKnights series and when I was about to PUBLISH the post, I noticed that the TWITTER automatic posting is greyed out (not working).

I guess it’s part of ELON MUSK changes in TWITTER.

Since I’m not paying anything, any subscription on WORDPRESS or TWITTER, I really don’t mind it. Beggars can’t be choosers, right? Anyways, WordPress realized it and added a SHARE pop up at the end of the PUBLISHING process. It’s an added procedure but then again, at least it’s there.

THE “NEW” SMART PLAN 599 SIM-ONLY

Saw this ad today, April 15, 2023 on Facebook, it made me thinking, I don’t think this is a good deal because Smart has another option, a prepaid one that gives a better deal than this, without the hassle of the plan applicaiton process.

I’m talking about Smart’s ALL DATA+ option/promo from Smart’s GigaLife app. It has 24GB of data allocation and unlimited calls and texts also including landline calls for only Php499 for 30 days.

So that’s Php100.00 cheaper, and it has 14GB of data allocation more than this plan.

And if you don’t consume all 24GB of the data allocation, the rest will be carried over to the next month (as long as you reload/renew thru the app before the subscription expires the next month).

The subscriber will know if and when the subscription will need renewing because Smart will send an SMS an hour before the subscription expiry. Nifty right?
